1970 Chevrolet Chevelle convertible
This is the worst body we've brought back to life. The only original pieces left of this body are the A-pillars and a couple misc. braces that aren't reproduced. The rest is entirely new! This car features a factory frame that has had an Art Morrison triangulated 4-link rear clip grafted on and Heidts front upper and lower control arms. QA1 coil-overs suspend the car on all 4 corners and 14" 6/4 piston Wilwood disc brakes provide the stopping power. The engine and transmission package has yet to have been decided on but so far it's leaning towards a Procharged 540" Big block Chevrolet backed by a 4L80E.
One of the worst bodies we've ever brought back from the dead. The entire floor of this car was made out of fiberglass and the quarter panels were attached with ductape covered in bondo.

Some bondo and ductape.
At this point the existing structure was deemed a lost cause, time for a fresh start.
Cut up to go into our scrap pile.
Here is almost all of the parts we ordered to get started on this project.
We couldn't buy the A-pillar/Door hinge pockets so we had to save the original pieces (Which were extremely rusted out of course).

Work begins piecing the new body together... there's our A-pillar/Hinge pockets mocked up, ready to be repaired.
Test fitting the windshield.
A-Pillar closeup, repairs to rust areas complete.
It's really starting to look like a car again.
Here you can also see the B-Pillar to floor braces we had to save, these and the A-pillars are the only original pieces left over from the original car.
Back to factory, the engine bay is now a clean slate ready for the full custom treatment.
Initial gapping is done. This car will receive an Art Morrison Enteprises triangulated 4-link back-half so we need to finish the chassis before we can complete the final gapping and deliver to the body shop.
